Maternity Nurse

Maternity nurses are highly qualified and experienced in neonatal care, and in advising families of new and recently born babies. They are typically ‘on-call’ 24 hours a day, 5 or 6 days per week, giving new parents time to rest, recover and enjoy all of the positives of new parenthood.

Maternity nurses provide support and advice relating to the nutrition and general health and wellbeing of both mother and baby. Another important aspect of their work is providing companionship to the mother and family at what is a joyful but potentially challenging time.

By employing a native English-speaking maternity nurse you are laying the ideal foundation for your child to grow up truly bilingual and able to speak with flawless English pronunciation.

Duties may include:

  • Advising on breastfeeding and nutrition
  • Providing respite to both parents and the family (day and night)
  • Helping to establish positive sleep routines
  • Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the nursery
  • Supporting mothers in recovering from illness or post-natal depression
  • Advising on and supporting the integration of a new baby into the family
