Nanny or Career

Nannies and carers are childcare professionals responsible for the physical, social, emotional and educational needs of children aged from 6 months - 7 years.

They fulfil all duties and responsibilities required for the development and wellbeing of the children, forming a special bond as a trusted companion and role-model.

They possess the child development qualifications and experience that are required by a preschool or kindergarten in the UK or USA. Careers with other, more specific childcare qualifications can be found on request, for example those with skills for speech and language therapy or caring for autistic children.

Duties may include:

  • Planning stimulating activities for children
  • Teaching basic social, play, reading & writing skills
  • Accompanying children to and from school and assisting with homework
  • Meeting children’s basic needs, such as dressing, feeding and bathing
  • Preparing nutritious meals, assisting with laundry and ensuring that toys remain clean and tidy
